Military Veterans Treatment Program
Transitioning from military to civilian life can be a difficult process. Veterans are trained to get the job done at all costs and many times mental health takes a back seat to the mission. While many veterans suffer minor physical and psychological injuries, some experience worse conditions. Many veterans experience traumatic events in the military which can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a debilitating mental health condition. Veterans may turn to drug and alcohol use to self-medicate and in turn, end up worsening PTSD symptoms.
Veterans need a treatment provider who understands the relationship between military experience, trauma and substance use. These and other co-occurring mental or physical health issues should be treated at the same time for the best recovery results. Our program provides comprehensive, integrated treatment that includes multiple forms of care and therapy.
Livengrin Military Veterans Treatment Program is directed by those closely affected by the stressors of military life. The program’s director and trauma therapist are both military veterans with experience transitioning into civilian life. Additionally, the program includes a Veteran peer support staff who understand the complexities of transitioning from military to civilian life as well as the journey into sobriety.
What To Expect
Livengrin provides a full continuum of care for drug and alcohol addiction, traumatic stress and PTSD. At Livengrin, we offer the following levels of care: detox, residential, partial hospitalization program (PHP), Intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient (OP). Following an assessment, a veteran will begin treatment at the level of care that is best suited to meet their individual needs.
Livengrin’s residential inpatient program is designed to first stabilize the veteran mentally and physically. Once the veteran is stable, our clinicians will begin to work with the veteran on the tasks of daily living, developing and applying recovery skills and practice positive behaviors to limit the probability of relapse upon transfer to a less intensive level of care.
The residential inpatient treatment program is based on evidence-based therapies. Veterans will attend small group meetings daily, as well as weekly individual sessions with their assigned therapist. The program includes a range of cognitive, behavioral and other therapies administered on an individual and group basis.
Livengrin offers traditional Twelve-step fellowships, SMART recovery, Dharma recovery, and helps connect veterans with other recovery programs upon discharge. Veterans have gone above and beyond, and Livengrin believes they deserve the same in a treatment provider. Our treatment team understands the unique needs of veterans and has built a program to meet those needs.
