Drug Detox Center
Sub-acute detox is a non-hospital, medical-monitored program for individuals who don’t have a high risk of intense or life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, but still have detox needs. Post-acute withdrawal symptoms can be uncomfortable. If you experience them without proper medical attention, you increase your likelihood of a relapse. Livengrin’s Admissions Counselors use the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to determine an appropriate level of care. The criteria is a set of six dimensions that establish a holistic, biopsychosocial assessment of an individual.
Livengrin emphasizes family care during the detox period, giving help and hope to the family of the patient. Specialized services provide education about why and how their loved one has become addicted, and how the patient will begin their journey to sobriety.
Following detox, patients may transfer to residential rehabilitation for the next step on the road to recovery.

As their health improves, patients are gently introduced to new coping tools and concepts to help start their engagement in the recovery process. Drug and alcohol detox center patients participate in their own group and individual counseling sessions, dining hours, and other activities.
Livengrin has a dedicated detox family therapist who works exclusively with patients and their families to provide a bridge for effective communication and clinical guidance during this volatile time.
Educational groundwork is provided to patients to alleviate their fears, get answers to questions about what they can expect and learn about their medications.
The Livengrin rehabilitation clinical staff visits detox groups to talk about the early phases of recovery. There are also meetings with patients who are close to leaving rehabilitation. During these meetings these patients detail their own experiences and perspectives to expose the detox patients to the clinical continuum of care.
