Sub-acute Detox

Sub-acute detox is a non-hospital, medically monitored program for individuals who don’t have a high risk of intense or life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, but still have detox needs. Post-acute withdrawal symptoms can be uncomfortable. If you experience them without proper medical attention, you increase your likelihood of a relapse. Livengrin’s Admissions Counselors use the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to determine an appropriate level of care. The criteria is a set of six dimensions that establish a holistic, biopsychosocial assessment of an individual.

  • Customized Drug and alcohol detox offers a process that is personalized for each patient’s specific medical needs.
  • Foundational Detox creates a foundation that helps stabilize the patient prior to rehabilitation treatment.
  • Support As the patient’s physical condition improves, emotional supports are introduced to address the psychological recovery process.

Family Support

Livengrin emphasizes family involvement throughout the entire treatment process. Family support is provided through addiction education and how the family can support the patient on their journey to sobriety.

  • Complete history and physical
  • Urine drug screen
  • Blood work including liver function, kidney function, electrolytes level, and complete blood count

Do You Accept Insurance?

Yes, an Admissions Counselor is available – 800.245.4746 or submit an online Livengrin Verification Form. If you or a loved one is not ready for this first step, we can help you understand what your plan covers and any out of pocket expenses. Livengrin can also help you apply for funding through county or Medicaid. Livengrin is an “in-network” provider with most major commercial insurance plans.

Coping Tools

As their health improves, patients are gently introduced to new coping tools and concepts to help start their engagement in the recovery process. Drug and alcohol detox center patients participate in their own group and individual counseling sessions, dining hours, and other activities.

Livengrin has a dedicated detox family therapist who works exclusively with patients and their families to provide a bridge for effective communication and clinical guidance during this volatile time.

Educational groundwork is provided to patients to alleviate their fears, get answers to questions about what they can expect and learn about their medications.

Support

The Livengrin rehabilitation clinical staff visits detox groups to talk about the early phases of recovery. There are also meetings with patients who are close to leaving rehabilitation. During these meetings these patients detail their own experiences and perspectives to expose the detox patients to the clinical continuum of care.

Family Care

Livengrin emphasizes family care during the detox period, giving help and hope to the family of the patient. Specialized services provide education about why and how their loved one has become addicted, and how the patient will begin their journey to sobriety.

Following detox, patients may transfer to residential rehabilitation for the next step on the road to recovery.
